Stacy's self esteem needs help and a new smile to move her from dispare to living a full life. She needs a break in life, please help.

Stacy is a beautiful woman who has had a lot of "bumps" in life. Her birthmother was too young to support Stacy and gave her up at seven months for adoption. Her birth-mother and birth-father were alcoholics and addicted to drugs. This didn't give her teeth a very good start.

Although she loved her adopted Dad very much, he was a pedestrian, hit by a drunk driver when Stacy was three years old and he was taken from her too when he suffered a severe head injury and did not remember her when he woke from his coma.

As a teen, Stacy was diagnosed with clinical anxiety and depression and prescribed anti-depressent drugs which she has taken for the last 12 years. This caused dry mouth and more tooth decay and many root canals.

As her adopted Mom, I am unable to afford the cost of implants and over the last 15 years, I have personally paid the cost of root canals and caps on the teeth that I could, trying to save her teeth. (~ $25,000). There was little help from insurance and due to the cost of root canals, she had to have some teeth extracted.

Stacy is beautiful but doesn't believe it and has not been able to smile or she covers her mouth when she talks. She rarely laughs, but covers her mouth when she does. Her life would change so much if she had new teeth. She has learned hopelessness in her life.

Stacy's gums have no disease, but the Dr. and faculty at the Dental School told me that the few teeth left on the bottom jaw should be pulled and replaced with dentures or ideally, implants since she is younger than 30. They gave me the cost of $45,000 to have her mouth fixed ideally.

It really makes me, her Mom, cry because it seems even with years of trying to save her teeth, there has been no end to the cost. And yet, my daughter is still suffering from self esteem issues, drinking Ensure for nurishment and becoming a recluse because she won't let anyone see her mouth when she talks.

Her depression and anxiety, along with her lack of self esteem because of her teeth, make it so that she is not able to live life to the fullest. She is just surviving and not living.

It is so difficult for me to watch her try to eat, with her mouth in the condition that it is now. She cries when she eats (not from pain, but because she can't believe that she doesn't have teeth) and when another piece of tooth breaks off because we were unable to cap it after a root canal, due to cost, she cries harder.

Stacy is absolutely in need of a break in life and financial help to free her from her self imposed withdrawal.

Please find it in your heart to donate to Stacy's Smile. We have a plan at the Dental School which saves some money, but they are prescribing implants which are very expensive, as the ideal treatment for her. This treatment will allow her to stay out of the dental chair for the rest of her life as there will be no more pain and no more root canals.

Thank you for reading our story and please, if you are able, help give Stacy something to smile about in life.

Blessings Abundant to you and yours.
