Friends of Julie Dention are uniting to raise money to help pay for an experimental surgery to treat a rare disease called Vagal Neuralgia.

In 2003, Julie was diagnosed with West Nile Virus. She contracted one of the most deadliest strains of the virus and almost died. Since this time, Julie has had to have over 20 surgeries due to complications.

During a surgery in October 2011, Julie was nicked causing internal bleeding and ultimately Vagal Neuralgia. Vagal Neuralgia is a rare disorder where the vagal nerve is damaged and constantly sends out pain signals to the body. The last known case was documented in the 1950's and the only remedy currently available is an experimental procedure called a Vagal Nerve Stimulator. Since the procedure is experimental, insurance won't cover any of the costs associated with the surgery. We are raising money to help cover the cost of this surgery, help pay off prior medical bills associated with all 20 plus surgeries, and pay for the over $500 a month worth of prescription drugs that Julie needs.

On top of Julie's medical condition. Their son Zakk was diagnosed with Supraventricular tachycardia or SVT in 2007 and had to undergo heart surgery in Denver.

This family would help anyone in need even if it put them in a hardship. Julie works full-time and as an independent wick-less candle consultant to try and pay the medical bills. Her husband Chad works as a City of Casper firefighter plus then works 2 more part-time jobs and works an average of over 100 hours a week to try and stay ahead of the bills.

Without the experimental surgery, Julie has no hope of overcoming this latest medical complication. Please help this family as they try and put their lives back together after nearly a decade of medical complications and surgeries.
