From the 18th to the 25th of May, 2010 over 40 villages went under flood.
You CAN HELP relieve the pain!
From the 18th to the 25th of May, 2010 over 40 villages went under flood. According to the Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations 2,963 houses and 173 community buildings were either completely or partially submerged in flood water. 5,717 adults and 1,590 children were urgently evacuated from homes.
Total number of victims suffered from the flood is over 9,000. The loss of livestock and horses consists of 2,335 animals. The size of unusable and temporary unavailable arable land and hay land is currently being estimated. Preliminary calculated loss and total damages amount for 1.2 billion rubles (or 40,5 mln. Canadian dollars).
What is needed?
1. Restoration of power supply and roads.
2. Pumps.
3. Dehumidification of people’s homes and buildings.
4. Gas tanks and cylinders to help drying people’s homes.
5. Antibacterial and anti-pathogenic chemicals and soaps.
6. Medicine and antibiotics.
7. Drinking water, food, clothes.
8. Basic construction materials (nails, lumber, wood boards, bricks, etc.)
9. Livestock and horses.
10. Psychological rehabilitation of those suffered from the flood.
11. Renewal of documents (passports, IDs, driver’s licenses, etc.)
12. Construction of dams and dikes;
13. Construction of new and reconstruction of the damaged assets, both of infrastructure and social use: roads, housing, community objects, etc.)
14. Restoration of arable land and hay land.
