I wanted to send this update out to remind everyone that the fundraiser, WALK FOR MANDY is in its last week and there are 4 days left. The end date is May 12th and for those of you that have been won…

The family and friends of Mandy are uniting to raise money to help alleviate the financial burdens, so she can focus on WALKING AGAIN!

On Friday, January 13th Mandy was in a severe auto accident with a semi truck with her babies in the car. Her vehicle caught fire while she was pinned in, which severely burned her. They life-flighted her and immediately amputated both legs. She had to make an instant decision in order to save her kids' lives, which she did. However she is currently still undergoing numerous surgeries to treat her burns, infections and fractures. She has been a fighter, but there are still many obstacles to come. She is truly a miracle to be alive.

Due to the accident, Mandy will not be able to support herself nor her children. Due to her extensive amount of surgeries, aggressive physical therapy, the degree of burns, and fractures she will not be able to work for some time. She will be undergoing more skin graft surgeries, physical therapy and hopefully soon, begin the fitting process for prosthetics legs so that she CAN WALK AGAIN!!!!

About Amanda Miller:
Mandy is a 27 year old mother of two precious gifts, her daughter Justice, and son Siaosi. She is from Oklahoma and has served in the military, which she is a veteran of the United States Army. She is fun to be around and has the most lovable and caring heart. She is full of energy and loves to go on adventures to see and experience new things. She has a passion for motorcycles, beautiful sceneries, snowboarding, skateboarding, and anything that keeps her mind, spirit, and body moving!

We can't change the traumatic events, but we can change how we fight to overcome them. Thank you all for your donations, support and most importantly, your prayers. We do believe in miracles, we have witnessed one in Mandy.

A special note from Mandy

April 24th, 2012

To all my loved ones I thank you for all you have done. The hospital nursing me back to health WAS the easy part. Coming home to reality has been a ton of bricks landing on my head. I'm on almost minimal pain meds as my legs an other bones are still broken and healing and pushing myself to the max in physical therapy. As I overwork an fatigue myself to the point where I'm bed ridden in pain half t...he time. I keep on and push through the pain with the thought of one day being able to be active again and chase after my kids in a park or keep up with them at all. Some days choosing to have let go when God gave me the option to, might seem easier for not just me but everyone I burden by having to sacrifice to take care of me. I know one day in my heart I will be able to look back on this all as a trial I overcame an all my loved ones who helped support along the way shall be favored by the Lord. But my dear friends I ask that if you haven't a penny to spare to help that you have a prayer in your heart for me to recover as now is the hardest time I'm facing in life. Thank you! Sincerely, Mandy Miller

Amazing Grafts

February 29th, 2012

From Mandy's cousin...doctor dani :)

I have had the privilidge to see mandy's injuries shortly after the accident and again today  Being a physician, I honestly thought I could handle anything but I dont think I will ever forget the feeling  I had when I saw the extent of Mandy's burns and injuries.  My heart broke for her.

However, after the multiple surgeries--- her grafting is taking amazingly and the progress is incredible.   When I saw a picture of the grafting today, I started to cry tears of joy.  It reminded me to never forget about how amazing peoples faith, strength and determination plus a little bit of science can turn something that seems impossible into something very possible.

Im so proud of Mandy and thankful that she has  such awesome family/friends and such great staff helping her at Parkland.  She continues to heal every day and smiles in the midst of the pain....and I expect great things are still to come from this brave soul...

So very thankful....

February 16th, 2012

"Amanda, Your Dad was the first person I talked to when I started working in Wamsutter, Wyoming. He was my boss. I greatly appreciated his help, and consider him a friend. I can't imagine what you are having to deal with. I have 4 daughters + 1 son [youngest]. We have had to suffer through some hard times, but nothing like yours. Suffering can be very lonely .... it can be very discouraging. 1 Peter 5:7 "casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you." Matthew 12:20 "A battered reed He will not break off, and a smoldering wick He will not put out,". I was looking for something that would be very inspirational, and I found it ...... "heres some money that we collected from our piggy bank to help you out Mommy!!!!" for all the wonderful things that you have done for us, this is just a little something to show our love for you!!!!! -fish hooks" .... seems like two pretty good reasons to be encouraged. You have a beautiful family. You have a lot of friends and family who love you. May God Strengthen & Bless You -"

    April 6th, 2012

"Greetings Mandy, The Barton-Ball family want you to know that we know that God has spared you for a reason. Since the day of your accident you have made great improvements. We know that is because of the prayers sent up for you and God's grace and mercy. To some you are a hero and some may call you a real trooper but I call you blessed and highly favored. I don't beleive God would bring you this for to leave you. So receive your miracle and thank God as you go. You are continuely in our prayers. As you know us as memaw and big papa we want you to know that the Ball family along with our very caring and loving friends made this donation possible through a musical and dinner plates. These all are very loving people and people of faith. They do not have to know you to care. We pray daily for you, Justice, Osi, and your family that God keep, direct, and guide all your decisions. You can make it-keep the faith. Be continuely blessed, The Barton-Ball family and friends"
