On January 7, 2010, a fire destroyed the home of 2009 WSC graduate Teressa Williams. Teressa is the mother of two beautiful boys, ages 7 and 10, and in the days since the fire she has done an amazing job of holding her family together and securing a new place to live. However, all of their possessions were lost in the fire, and Teressa is faced with the challenge of completely starting over. On behalf of this extraordinary graduate from our community, we are asking for your help.

About Teressa:

Teressa graduated from Westfield State College in May 2009 with a major in Sociology and a minor in Multicultural and Ethnic Studies. She was a member of the Sociology National Honor Society, was honored as a Sankofa Scholar, and received special recognition as a student of Multicultural and Ethnic Studies. She is an alum of the Urban Education Program and the TRiO Student Support Services Program. Teressa is currently working full time in social services in Springfield; meanwhile, she is working towards her Masters in Public Administration as she readies herself to develop and run social services organizations. Even amidst this terrible recent event, Teressa is persisting with this semester’s classes and maintains an A average.
