For me, the toughest emotional and physical aspect of living is having enlarged breast tissue.  I wear a tight spandex chest binder every day so my chest looks flatter than it actually is. I enjoy a good workout but have to plan ahead so I don't need to remove my shirt in the locker room.  I just want my body to look and feel more natural.

I would like to use a surgeon in Portland, Oregon because of his reputation for excellent results.  I have friends there who will help during my recovery which will drastically lower my expenses.  However, I may stay in denver to shave some travel costs. Since my job is very physical, I am anticipating at least 2 weeks of recovery, some of which will be covered with paid time off. Most insurance plans do not cover this sort of 'elective' medical expense so I need to raise money to pay with cash.   Below is a breakdown of my anticipated costs.

This fundraiser lasts until April 21st, 2010.  I am planning surgery for May 2010. • psychiatrist 'permission slip' - $100

UPDATE 3/15/10: It's not going to show up on this page, but I am up to $700 savings on my end. Getting closer :)

I have scheduled two different consultations with docs closer to Denver in an effort to save a few dollars on the transportation end.

I may use the employee counseling program to get my letter - free.

UPDATE 3/30/10: really liked the Denver doc.  Albuquerque - not so much eventhough it would be cheaper despite the distance.  Still trying to secure a loan.
