We are so grateful to everyone who helped us get Surfer here from Nicaragua! He has arrived and is getting prepared to undergo surgery to repair his broken bones. We are still accepting donations towards the cost of his surgery.

We are so grateful to everyone who helped us get Surfer here from Nicaragua! He is currently undergoing treatment for an intestinal and a blood parasite and is steadily gaining weight and strength in preparation for surgery.

His xrays show that he will may need two surgeries to repair his broken pelvis. The first surgery will be to repair his broken left leg, the second will be to repair his broken right hip. We have started him on painkillers and he is getting around quite comfortably despite the extent and severity of his pelvic injuries.

He is adjusting to life at Oldtown Veterinary Hospital very well. He is always ready with a wag of his tail and LOVES to meet new people. He has a nice soft bed (donated by a wonderful client) and numerous bones and toys. He has been on two weekend "field trips" to stay with Dr. Pierce and Andrea and has enjoyed playing with their dogs.

We are still collecting donations for Surfer's surgery. We have been so touched by the generosity of so many so far. Our sincere thanks to everyone who has donated, visited and sent good thoughts to Surfer!
