Please help offset/assist with medical/daily living expenses to alleviate the financial burden.To help Sterling fight the fight for his life

Sterling, at a young age of 25 and with no health insurance has been battling Crohn's disease over the last year and has recently (as of November) been diagnosed with cancer. Sterling and Tiffany his beautiful wife were married May of this year. Shortly after Sterling was officially diagnosed with Crohn's disease. He underwent a major surgery in the summer and a 9 day stay at St. Charles Medical Center. Sterling recently went into the doctor for chest pain where they discovered he had 2 large tumors in his neck. After testing, Sterling has been diagnosed with Papillary carcinoma and has a good possibility of having Medullary carcinoma, which has a much lower cure rate than papillary carcinoma. After Thanksgiving (Sterling did not want to miss out on his Thanksgiving dinner!) Sterling will undergo an operation to remove the two tumors, his thyroid and lymph nodes that are in his neck. He will then undergo Radioactive therapy and additional tests to see if the cancer has spread in his body. We don't know what the total expenses will be - but we felt we had to get something started to alleviate the stress on Sterling and Tiffany so that they can focus all of their energy and strength on winning this battle! The money donated will be used to pay for medical expenses and to help with daily living expenses while Sterling and Tiffany have to live off of one income. Please keep Sterling and Tiffany in your prayers at this time! Sterling and Tiffany need all your support and prayers to help them stay strong through this trial.

Update on Sterling 1/12/2011

Hello friends and family...
Many of you have asked how Sterling is doing,  So, here is a brief update. 
On Monday, Jan. 17he will do the Radio Active Iodine treatment and then be in isolation for 3-5 days.
On Monday, Jan 24, they will do a full body scan to detect possible cancer in the lungs, bones, liver or around other vital organs.  If it has spread,  we are hopeful that the RAI treatment will take care of it, but there is a possibility he could need more treatments, depending on the severity.  We are praying for a clear scan!!! 
Sterling has been doing amazingly well, although quite fatigued, trying to function without a thyroid and any thyroid replacerment meds.  He will go on those after the RAI treatment is complete.
We, once again, send our deepest appreciation for your many kind acts of service, financial support, your prayers and fasting in his behalf.  We are so grateful for all of the above!

UPDATE ON STERLING 12/15/10

December 15th, 2010

Sterling's pathology report came back from the doctors. He has Papillary Carcinoma (not medullary) which is the most common and has the highest cure rate of the thyroid cancers. Yeah!! They did find that the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes that were removed in his neck. They will be running more tests in the next couple weeks to see if the cancer has spread to anywhere else in his body. He will also undergo Radioactive Iodine treatment in the next couple weeks which is an extremely effective type of "chemotherapy" that should kill any remaining thyroid cancer cells. We can't say enough how much we appreciate everyones support and prayers during this time!! 

UPDATE 12/8/2010

Just wanted to let everyone know that Sterling underwent his surgery yesterday and according to the Doctor everything went really good! They will know later in the week what specific type of thyroid cancer it is and if it has spread in his body. I will keep everyone updated once we get the information back! 

UPDATE ON STERLING 12/3/2010

December 3rd, 2010

Thank you to each one of you for your support in Sterling and Tiffany's' behalf during this health challenge.  We are so appreciative of your prayers of faith, words of encouragement and your financial offerings to Sterlings cancer fund. We are at 25% of reaching the goal and we are overwhelmed with gratitude for your very generous gifts.  So many of you have offered such thoughtful kindnesses and service to our family.  Please know that we are very grateful for each and every one of them!  
Sterling will undergo a surgery for a full thyroidectomy and neck dissection to remove his lymphnodes on Tuesday December 7th. This will be followed by a stay at St. Charles where the doctors will run tests to see if the cancer has spread anywhere else in his body. Please continue praying for them and the physicians who will be attending him. We feel so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives to ease this burden! We will keep you updated next week!
