Ed Sherwood was tragically killed in a head on collision on Febuary 7, 2012. We need your support to help Karen, Eden and their family farm.

Update: Due to the tremendous support of our community, we met our first fundraising goal in less than 36 hours. A new goal has been set. Thank you so much. Karen wishes to give you all her thanks and love.

Memorial services for Edward (Ed) Sherwood will be held Saturday, February 18, at 2pm at Heritage Park, Hwy 26, Melrose, FL.

Ochwilla Hill Farm is a bio-dynamic family farm created by Ed and Karen Sherwood and their daughter Eden.

Karen and Ed Sherwood have worked harder than just about anyone I know to carve out a life they love. Their bio-dynamic farm is really like a piece of heaven. Their cows are treated with love and respect and their garden overflows with a bounty of beautiful veggies.

All of this took a lot of work from Ed. He faithfully milked the family cows twice a day, every day. He tended the garden and kept the 100-year-old farmhouse in repair. He took their vegetables - both fresh and cultured - to market every week.

None of us will be able to fill the hole that was left by Ed's untimely departure. Those who knew him knew that he was larger than life, laughing often, goofing around with the kiddos, and living in the present. Your financial assistance will help Karen and Eden tremendously in the coming months.

Thank you for your consideration.

Fundraiser closing in 48 Hours

March 8th, 2012

A month has passed since Ed's accident, and we are closing this fundraiser over the weekend so that Karen can begin to use these funds. If you have wanted to donate, now is the time! We'd love to close this fundraiser on a high note! If you are unable to donate now but would like to donate in the future, please take down Karen and Eden's address.
Joe Pierce at Mosswood Farm Store in Micanopy is beginning to organize Tuesday work parties at the farm. You can call the store if you'd like to join him. If you'd like to help in other ways, you can contact me at somewhereglass@bellsouth.net or contact Karen directly.
Thanks again so much for your support of the Sherwood family over the past few weeks. They have felt it all. If there are any additional words of support or stories about Ed you'd like to add, you can also comment in the "hugs" section of this website. We're making a book of all your loving words so Eden can see what an amazing impact her father had on this community.
Thank you.

I wish for all of you a peaceful journey toward this new chapter in your lives. I'll think of Ed every time I pop an especially sweet little tomato in my mouth, or eat delicious homemade ice cream! He was such a sweetheart, and will be missed. I look forward to seeing you both more in the future and love you two dearly. Sarah"

"We didn't have to opportunity to meet Ed. From what Sarah has told us, and all of what we've heard via Facebook, it seems the world lost a wonderful person. My sympathies to his friends and family. Please accept my humble donation. I wish it was 10 or 100 times more, but even that couldn't touch what he meant to everyone."
