Hey Everyone! Please meet Dolce! He is my 4 year old Boston Terrier that was recently diagnosed with lymphoma, which is a type of cancer. Lymphoma in dogs is always fatal until recently. Dolce has had the opportunity to get a Bone Marrow Transplant at North Carolina State University! Approximately 30 dogs have received the transplant, and Dolce will be one of them! He is also on of the smallest dogs to have the chance to receive a transplant. The only thing holding us back from saving Dolce's life, is to pay for the procedure. This is where we need your help! Dolce is currently on chemotherapy but it will only prolong his life by months. A bone marrow transplant could cure his lymphoma and give him the rest of his life back!

I first found Dolce when he was 6 months old. He was in a horrible situation in a tiny cage and had never been let out to walk. I spent months trying to teach him how to socialize and walk properly since his legs were damaged from being in a cage his whole life. He had many surgeries on his legs and turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me! After all of his leg surgeries I finally felt like the worst was behind us, until I found a lot of swelling under Dolce’s neck. I took him to the vet and he went through lymph node biopsies before it was confirmed, he had b-cell lymphoma. Hearing lymphoma was one of the worst days of our lives. We learned that even with expensive chemotherapy, Dolce will not live more than a year. The thought of him struggling through the beginning of his life, and then being diagnosed with a death sentence was too much for me to handle. He has barely had a chance to live a normal life before he was diagnosed with lymphoma and his future was taken away from him. I searched for weeks for different options for Dolce. I eventually came across an article about North Carolina State University, and how they are saving dogs with lymphoma. The transplant is very expensive, but after everything Dolce has gone through in his life, he deserves to have every opportunity available to give him another chance at life. This is why I decided to raise money to help Dolce receive a Bone Marrow Transplant.
I will continue to fight for Dolce until the day his Bone Marrow Transplant is scheduled. I am going to need some help in the total cost of the Bone Marrow Transplant. I have put forth all of my savings to help pay for Dolce’s transplant and chemotherapy, but there is so much more I just cannot afford without your help! I know this is a large task, but I am not going to give up on Dolce. He has never given up with all the obstacles he had gone through at such a young age, and I am going to continue to fight for him. Within a few years we are hopeful Bone Marrow Transplants will be used by many pet owners who were originally given death sentences for their dogs with cancer.

Did you know 95% of Bone Marrow Transplants performed on people were originally tested on dogs? Thanks to our dogs, many people are cured of cancer every year! I think it is about time we give back to our dogs, and save their lives!!
