Come join us as we Run for a Reason this year at the Chicago Half Marathon and 5K on September 13th. Anyone can join this group, and you can raise money for ANY cause you care about.

We’d like to invite you to participate in GiveForward.org’s first Chicago Run for a Reason, a fundraising competition and celebration of Chicago’s amazing smaller non-profit community. As part of our effort to connect with local charities, we’re bringing together runners to participate in the upcoming Chicago Half Marathon & 5k.
Our goal is to help raise as much money for Chicago charities as possible while showing the Chicago community how important young philanthropists are to these organizations.
To participate, all you need to do is create a free, personal fundraising page by joining this group!
Competition starts now and ends the day of the race, Sunday September 13, 2009. The individual that raises the most money will receive a cash prize for their cause!
Why you should get involved:
- Raise extra money for your organization with very little effort--on average, fundraisers who participate in 5k races raise about $1,000 on the site
- Introduce your organization to a new group of young philanthropists
- Get publicity for your organization and its mission
- Learn new, Web 2.0 techniques for fundraising that will boost donations
- And of course…Awesome t-shirts!
What you need to do to participate:
- Create your personal fundraising page by clicking "Join Group"
- Explain on your fundraising page why you're raising money for the cause you care about.
- Register for the Chicago Half Marathon & 5k at www.chicagohalfmarathon.com
- Invite your friends, family, and colleagues to support you in your effort
- Post your fundraiser to Facebook, Twitter, and add it to your email signature!
