We are reaching out for support to raise money to help our daughter Samantha beat Spina Bifida and beable to walk on her own!
This fundraiser is for our daughter Samantha. We found out in February 2008, that our baby girl was going to be born with spina bifida, spina what? Well , the doctor explained, most born with this have to have catheters to empty their bladder, have bowel problems, and are wheelchair bound, use a walker, and some even walk on their own. Then proceeded to ask if we would like to have an abortion! Well, obviously you know what our answer was :) She is here and walking with her pink stix isn't she!
Samantha was born with Spina Bifida, one of the most common debilitating birth defect in the U.S. Spina Bifida claims about 7 out of 10,000 births in the U.S. She was born on August 4, 2008. Through hours of therapies and dedication Samantha can walk with her pink walking stix! Samantha also does not have adequate bowel and bladder function and also needs braces and crutches to walk. Samantha cannot feel her feet or wiggle her toes hardly at all. She doesn't seem to have much senstion below the knee at all.
This fundraiser is to help us raise money to take Samantha to one of the leading countries for stem cell treatment, in China at Beike Biotechnology. Unfortunately it is not done in the U.S. for spina bifida. Stem cell treatment has been successful for cp , cancer, and other diseases here in the U.S. Stem cell treatment has been amazing for many people and we have personal friends who have had amazing results in their spina bifida kids!! Please help us get Samantha these treatments so that she can hopefully gain bowel and bladder function, senstation and beable to walk!!!!! We greatly appreciate donations in any amount! We love the pink walking stix, but would love to hang them on the wall as a memory of the times she use to use them!!
