Pawsibilities Unleashed works to provide service animals and pet therapy training in Kentucky. I want to support both people and animals through my half marathon, and this organization improves health and wellbeing of humans with animals.
I believe that pets are a blessing in this world and I'm reminded of this each time I see or hear a story about a service animal or pet therapy program that improves the health and wellbeing of a human in need. Pawsibilities Unleashed is a non-profit organization in the state of Kentucky that provides training classes for service and therapy dogs helping those with autism, diabetes, seizures and mobility issues.
I will be running my first half marathon in Lexington on March 28, 2010. Seeing all the good done by funds raised through charity athletic events I promised myself I would only participate in those that are charity-focused or create my own individual fundraiser. I have chosen to raise funds for Pawsibilities Unleashed because it is important to me to support organizations that help both animals and people.
Pawsibilities Unleashed will use the funds I raise for the general expenses of raising a service pup such as vetting it, feeding it and training it. This pup will then go on to improve the life of someone in need.
I hope you will consider helping me to support Pawsibilities Unleashed!
