The GiveForward Community Fund

The GiveForward Community Fund is the growing proof of the generosity of GiveForward users. Every time you fundraise or donate on GiveForward.org, those dollars go into a Money Market account until the fundraiser closes. 100% of the interest earned on that money goes to the GiveForward Community Fund to be turned into grants to non-profit projects.

The mission of the Fund is to fund exemplary organizations that promote the physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and environmental well-being of citizens all over the world. Our mission is intentionally broad. We believe that a community Fund should be flexible yet strategic. By keeping our mission open, we can react to the changing interests and concerns of our community.

About the Fund

Although we have not yet received our 501(c)3 status, the GiveForward Community Fund (GFCF) will be the non-profit arm of GiveForward, LLC. While we await our non-profit status, all grants will be issued through our donor advised fund with the Greater Kansas City Community Fund. Our goal is to fund projects that strategically and sustainably tackle issues important to us and our users. Our Board of Trustees is comprised of leading thinkers in philanthropy and representatives from a variety of industries. Our Board reflects the ethnic, racial, socio-economic, and generational diversity of our users.

How it works

GiveForward staff nominates the top non-profit projects to be considered for grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. The Fund’s Board of Trustees will then select the grant recipients based on the Fund’s philanthropic goals for that year. In addition, there will be the Givers’ Choice Award–$5,000 to the project most voted upon by our users.
