Friends and family are coming together to raise money in aid of the Lor family after their home burned down.

As many of you may already know, the Lor family's home was recently destroyed by a fire. In times of need, the assistance of family and friends, like you, matter the most.

Early Wednesday afternoon, March 23rd, the Lor family's home in Elk Mound, WI, tragically burned down. All of the family's personal belongings, furniture, and vehicles were damaged or destroyed by the fire, including a new car purchased just days before.

Chris Lor, 53, and Connie Yang Lor, 46, are both active members of the local Hmong Menomonie Alliance Church (HMAC), where they attend regularly and have been working hard to prepare for the move into HMAC's new church. Connie has also worked for the Menomonie School District for several years.

Their children living at home are:

La Lor, 26 (daughter)
Kong Lor, 25 (son)
Zang Lor, 24 (daughter-in-law)
Coobvam Lor, 21 (son, currently attending Nyack University in NY)
Andy Lor, 8 (son)

Furthermore, Kong and his wife, Zang, are expecting their first child, Violet, to arrive April 12th, less than 3 weeks away. The fire destroyed a brand new crib, baby clothes, bottles, and all of their newborn preparations, including every gift they received from their recent babyshower shared with family and friends.

We ask that you donate anything you can. Even the smallest amount will be helpful in repairing their home, providing clothes and food, etc...If you would like to send donations or gifts through the mail, please send to:

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:4-7 (NIV)"
