For anyone receiving this fundraiser request you probobly already know my Dad's story. He was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called "pseudomyxoma peritonei" on May 21st 2009. Basically, he had cancer in/on his appendix which burst in his abdomen. He has endured weekly treatments over the past year and had surgery right after Thanksgiving 2009. He spent many weeks in the Hospital and has many more treatments to go through in his battle. Although my parents have relatively good insurance considering the circumstances the medical bills are rising as many of his treatments are not fully covered or have high deductibles. Other than our love, Kelly and I wanted to do something to make his fight a little easier so we decided to start this fundraiser. I am already signed up for the 2010 Kenosha Marathon on May 1st. 2010. I have been training since about December 28th and am looking forward to the challenge. What has got me through the miles thus far is knowing that no matter how hard they seem nothing will compare to what my Dad has/will go through. I know times are tough so any help would be appreciated--plus it will force me to make sure I make all 26+miles. Thanks!
