Brian Corbett (18) was critically injured in a car accident hours from home. The fund will cover medical bills & family relocation expenses
18 year old Brian Corbett is in critical condition at Lee Memorial Hospital in Ft. Myers, FL, after he endured serious injuries to his neck and spine in a tragic car accident which killed two of his friends and seriously injured Brian and two others. Since the accident occurred several hours distance from his home in Weston, FL, his parents, Ed & Madelyn Corbett, and his older brother, Eddie, are staying in a nearby hotel, away from home and work. The hotel expenses alone, and the loss of income are creating a real hardship for Brian's family as they remain by his side during this critical period. With multiple surgeries ahead and a long road to recovery, the Corbett family needs all the help they can get to weather this difficult time. Any donation you can make will be greatly appreciated.
May 4th - WORLD GIVE DAY Competition: WE WON!!!!!
Many thanks to all who have donated and sent hugs over the past two weeks. Your generous donations lifted Brian all the way to the top, making him the official WINNER of the "WORLD GIVE DAY" competition, for which GiveForward.com has awarded the fund a $750 donation!
It was an incredibly close race between several important funds created for people in need by people who love them. It is wonderful that this competition ultimately fuels donations for all of the funds involved. Having won by such a close margin really illuminates the fact that every single dollar received was needed to win that extra money! Thank you for all of the love and support!
Also a big THANK YOU to GiveForward.com, for the $750 donation to Brian, and for giving us such an easy way to raise money so quickly for people we love who really need us.
UPDATE:
Brian's condition is improving each day. After a successful surgery, he has recently been moved from ICU into a rehab facility within Lee Memorial in Ft. Myers. He remains a distance from home and the road ahead of him is a long one, but his strength and his will to heal have been nothing short of amazing.
MEMORIAL DAY UPDATE:
DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JULY 4, 2011!!!
We are currently at 70% of our $25K goal, and we still need to raise another $7500 to get there. It has been only 6 weeks since Brian's accident, and his progress is truly awe inspiring. Nevertheless, he's still got a long way to go. Please spread the word and help us raise the $25,000 we set out to raise for the Corbett family.
