Please show your support for Mark by raising money to help with his spinal cord injury. Thanks!

Please help offset/assist with medical/daily living expenses to alleviate the financial burden.

Mark was in a car accident on Feb. 4th, 2011. He broke his neck, was paralyzed, and has been rendered a quadraplegic, from the chest down. He spent 1 month at Renown Hospital in ICU on a respirator and tracheodomy, because he could not breathe on his own. He also had surgery on his broken spine to put the vertabrae back together with rods. Originally, he could only move his head, neck, shrug his shoulders and move his arms a little bit. He is at a point now, that he is off the ventilator, and can move his arms more, but there is no movement in any of his fingers, and still nothing from the chest down.
This has been a very trying, emotional and painful journey for Mark. He's trying very hard to keep hope alive and stay positive, even in his darkest moments. Mark, his family and friends are doing our best to hold out hope, that with physical therapy, which he will be starting soon at the Renown Physical therapy center, he will regain some movement, strength and dexterity. Anyone who knows Mark, knows he is a very physically strong man and and is also stubborn and determined..which can come in handy in rehab. He is still hospitalized, but should be leaving soon to therapy.
I started this fundraiser to raise money for things that insurance wont pay, for example... possible stem cell therapy and travel to other states, a van that is converted with hand controls and wheelchair lift so Mark can one day drive again, and the many other items for daily living and making the best and easiest life for Mark as possible. Myself (his sis), his parents, kids, other siblings and friends, love him so much, and only want the best for him, and to give him the best life possible, with as many opportunities and resources as possible. Your donations can make this happen.
Anything helps. It all adds up. There is no gift too small. All gifts are appreciated. Even well wishes

Hugs for Mark Rogers Medical Fundraiser.

Mark cleared for real food

March 20th, 2011

After 6 long weeks, Mark was finally cleared to eat all foods, so he doesn't just have hospital stuff. Dee brought him in pizza from Pizza Plus and some chicken wings. He loved it. So if you go see Mark at the hospital, bring a treat or ask if you can bring him something for lunch/dinner the next day! Also, he got a smaller trache tube last week, so he's just a step away from having it removed. He is supposed to be transfered to rehab March 25th and is very much looking forward to that.
