Joseph Morales is the son of Maggie Lamberty- Hayes and John Hayes. His brothers are Justin and Matthew Hayes.

On January 25th, 2012 Joe Morales was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Multiple myeloma is a type of cancer. Cancer is a group of many related diseases. Myeloma is a cancer that starts in plasma cells, a type of white blood cell. It's the most common type of plasma cell cancer. this cancer is one of the rear cancers. this cancer is only 1% of all cancer patients.

Due to this cancer it caused Joseph to endure a fracture that has left him out of work. He is a bus operator,for the MTA. The MTA will not be paying him for sick leave because he is a NEW HIRE. So he will be on a UNPAID SICK LEAVE. The cancer has also affected his kidney function. Joe is currently unable to work at this time. Due to the fracture and the aggressive treatment he will be receiving to help battle the Multiple Myeloma.He will be undergoing very aggressive chemotherapy and either under go a stem cell transplant or a bone marrow transplant depending on his response to his chemotherapy.

ABOUT JOE MORALES:
Joe Morales is a 29 year old male. He is a very hard worker and an overall good guy. He is engaged to Jennie Baez and a stepfather to Anastasia Wilson. Joe Morales is ACTIVELY ENROLLED IN THE US ARMY RESERVES. He is a Military Police. Joe has went over seas and helped in the recovery and relief in Haiti due to the earthquake that occured in 2010. Joe's fiance Jennie Baez is a Veteran that served a 12 month tour in Iraq in the current war; Operation Iraqi Freedom. She too is a ACTIVE ARMY RESERVIST, who is due to deploy to Afghanistan in November of 2012.

We can't change this disease, but we can change how they fight it! Thank you all for your donations, support and most importantly prayers. We do believe in miracles and we pray for one each day.

Joe's brunch Cancer Fundraiser was a SUCCESS!!!

Joe's Brunch was a success and thats because of all of you!!!!! Thank you everyone who came out and showed your support for this cause. We can't  express how grate full we are. Thank you all so very much from Joe, and his family.


Tomorrow is a big day for Joe. He meets with the transplant doctor and he will tell him what is coming next. A stem-cell transplant is in the near future.

Hello everyone
Just want to keep you all updated. Joe is doing ok. His proteins and potassium is back to normal, yeah!! Chemotherapy is still aggressive and he is taking it day by day. One day he feels weak and the next he feels ok. Tomorrow he goes for chemo once again. Lets pray for good results because that means one step closer to a stem cell transplant. We thank you all for your support, words can't explain how grateful Joe and his family and friends are to have you all as his support team.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for all the well wishes and the donations. Joe is taking it one day at a time. He had the renal doctor today. everything look good beside a his potassium being high. He is feeling crummy from the chemo, meds, but he is a trooper. Please continue to send your prayers this way!

As several of you know, Joe was recently diagnose with Multiple Myeloma Cancer and we need YOUR HELP! We have set up a Brunch fundraiser @ Network Cafe to raise money to help Joe offset/assist with medical/daily living expense to alleviate the financial burden.

One ticket is $50.00 in advance and $60.00 at the door and it includes one buffet style brunch meal, one entry into the raffle drawings and juice and soda.

We will raffle off prizes to be announced as event nears.

    "Hi Joe.... We have been spreading the word and raising funds. The FISD bus barn employees donated $300, while Katie donated $200. I know this will only put a small dent in the medical costs but we hope it will inspire others to give. We love you with all of our hearts and continue to pray every day.
