The family and friends of Jim Chapp are uniting to raise money to help pay for treatments for his battle against Cancer. Thank you!

Jim Chapp, a US Navy Submariner Veteran, had a great life before cancer; he is married and the father of two great kids. He currently works for a major food company and was enjoying his job, wife, and family. In mid-August 2011 he developed back pain following a hockey game. A visit to his family doctor did not reveal any issues at that time, but the pain persisted. Later on September 8th the pain became so severe he went to the local hospital emergency room where a CT scan was performed. A large mass on his left kidney was discovered; the diagnosis was Renal Carcinoma – kidney cancer. The following day, he was transferred to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and surgery was performed on September 14th.
His left kidney, adrenal gland, four lymph nodes and a large tumor was removed. A bowel resection was also needed to repair a portion of damaged bowel. The surgery was successful and he was pronounced “cancer free”. The celebration was short lived. On the day that he was to be discharged, a large tumor on his neck was discovered. Almost overnight the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes in his neck. His doctors were shocked at the rapid tumor growth, and agreed that immediate and aggressive treatment must be done. Jim spent another two weeks in the hospital recovering and has recently begun weekly I.V. chemotherapy treatments. To supplement his I.V. chemo treatments, an oral chemo medication has been added. This medication is extremely expensive and only a portion is covered by insurance.

Jim is in the battle of his life right now, and mounting medical bills are a worry we would like to take away from him. We can't change this disease, but we can fight it! Thank you all for your donations, support, and most importantly prayers. We do believe in miracles and we pray for one each day. God Bless you.
