Madison is a fun imaginative 6 yr old girl suffering from a rare intestinal disorder. We are raising funds for her trip to Boston for a cure

Maddy's Diagnostic testing ****
From Maddy's Mom this morning: "madisons test results: Okay its been a long time waiting for the results. The test showed the end of her colon having no function. There is nothing we can do for that, just have to wait another 3-4 years for it to correct itself. She will be flying back to Boston in 2 weeks for corrective surgery which should alleviate some of the pain. Thank you everyone for praying and keeping her in your thoughts and for all your donations! We couldn't have done it without your help! Thank you!
Madison is unable to live a life of a "typical child" she can not ride her bike, go for long walks or even birthday parties that have bounce house activities.
She is being sent to Boston for a diagnostic exam that is only offered in two states nationwide. Unfortunately her Insurance will not cover the cost of this trip or medical expenses. The whole cost will be $25,000.00, please help make this possible to help find a cure for Madison.
Through local fundraisers and mailed donations we are thrilled and so thankful to be able to add $5,000 to the amount donated here online!!

Amazing.... how time has flown and how generous people have been to Maddy! You have given your time, your love, and your donation in such great force we could never tell you how very thankful we are on behalf of Maddy and her family.
With just a few days left in her fundraiser here at Give Forward (the last day is Saturday June 4th)- we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. With your help, and one last push, we will reach our goal of $25,000 for Maddy's quest for a diagnosis and treatment plan. And Maddy is seeing the light as well!! After her trip to Boston back in May, things are looking up! She has a great decrease in pain and is closer than ever before to being diagnosed. One more trip to Boston to meet with the specialist who created the diagnostic test and hopefully she will be out of the woods.
We are so thankful for this platform being able to bring all of you into Maddy's world and hsare her with each of you. We hope you are better for knowing her as we are sure, she is better for knowing all of you care so very much for her.
So with that, our very last request: Please send this out to your friends, networks and families one last time and let's go out with complete success!

On the Road Again.....

Early this coming week, Maddy is due to be on the road again, hopefully this is the final road to recovery - but literally she is Boston bound from sunny Florida!
Please keep Maddy, her mom and her Grandma in your thoughts and prayers as they travel. Maddy and her Mom, with their repeated visits, have become accustom our local hospitals and their staff, routines and generally knowing what to expect. This is a long awaited trip but we imagine Maddy's family is feeling some anxiety about all of the unknowns.
Our personal hope is that this trip and testing is the long hard sprint to the finish line for both Maddy and her Mom. Maddy deserves to have a childhood like any other little girl, including riding her bike and running through fields of daisies, if she desires. Mom is Maddy's primary caretaker 24/7, even bedside during her hospital stays. Day in and day out this can become incredibly stressful on anyone. We hope for great results where Maddy and Mom will regain independence to explore the world and all the things they both love to do! We hope and pray the results of this trip allow life to become as wonderfully 'normal' for them!

We are continuously amazed at the love and support being shown for Maddy through HUGS for Maddy. Apparently, we are not the only ones who think this is outstanding. GiveForward is featuring HUGS for Maddy on their front page!
Right now, we are just shy of $15,000 with our online campaign on GiveForward. Include in donations of items, services and the 2 local fund raising events held here in Florida, we are now officially in the home stretch of reaching our goal.
Are you ready?.... to reach our goal of $25K, we are only approx. $5,000 away!
Maybe, just maybe....no.... with our stupendous group of givers, we know our goal could be reached BEFORE Maddy leaves for Boston at the end of this month! Many of you are parents/grandparents - imagine the relief and reduced stress for Maddy's Mom if she knew Maddy's expenses were covered before the grueling trip begins.

The amazing establishment, The Rogue in Riverside FL is pairing up with us on April 20th to benefit Maddy from 6pm-9pm. For $10 you will get participate in a Tasting at The Rogue featuring select bourbons and vodka's. All proceeds will be donated to H.U.G.S. for Maddy.

Today is Wednesday and you know what that means - it's Hump Day! Surely by no coincidence, HUGS for Maddy is almost to the hump of our goal. Right now, we're at 44% of our goal - phenomenal!

Just wanted to take a minute here and give thanks.
Thanks to each and every one of you who've visited this page and helped by contributing and then sharing the page with your friends!
Thanks to Team Maddy members who've donated their time and energy to Maddy's Benefit happening on this Sunday. Patti, Helene, Carmen - you've pounded pavement like none I've seen before!
Thanks to the support people of Team Maddy: Michael, Marc, Jon without their support, this wouldn't have launched as successfully as it did.
And saving best for last. Thank you to Maddy's Mom. It's your unbridled determination in seeking out treatment for Maddy and your humility in asking for help that started and keeps the wheels rolling in "HUGS for Maddy". I think I speak for all of us when I say - thank you sharing Maddy with us so that our days will be brighter and thank you for allowing us an avenue to help her.

You guys ROCK! The heat has been here on this page, without a doubt. Sadly, tonight we report that Maddy is rounding out the week with a fever. Scary with a typically healthy child, I can't imagine how frightful it is when your child's health is already compromised. Love is pouring in!

It's amazing - we are already at 7% of our goal -$25,000! You are all so generous with your outpouring of love, notes, donations and sharing of Maddy's plight with everyone who loves her.
As of this afternoon, Maddy was again readmitted to the hospital ;( Sadly, this has become routine and the status quo for 'treating' her condition until they know more about it. The testing at Children's has the potential to give Maddy a painfully, long awaited, diagnosis and the hope for treatment of the disorder as opposed to the current course of repeated hospitalizations.
UPDATE: Maddy was released from the hospital and on her way home!
We are currently seeking a donor who intends to make one substantial donation of $1,000. We can then offer a donation matching program to the general public and challenge them to reach a $2,000 goal for one days worth of donations.. Maddy's Trip

Maddy will set out for her journey to Boston, by car, at the end of April. Please keep that in mind if you wish to donate tangible items, like DVDs and Gift Cards, for her trip.
If you are local, please contact Kate for a drop-off point. You could also drop them in the mail to the address provided on the front page of the website. Mail usually takes 3-5 business days.

"Love your work and Maddy is such a beautiful girl! I hope everything works out for you both. And do not hesitate to question items on the bill... you will be surprised at 1) how many mistakes are made in billing; and 2) how willing hospitals are to negotiate costs. I work in healthcare and there is a lot more room in the billing than people think. Good luck to you both!!!"
