KaliMarie was diagnosed with AML (acute myeloid leukemia) on April 4, 2011. She was just one week shy of her 6 month birthday. Since then, she has lived the past 7 months of her life in the hospital. KaliMarie has been through approximately 8 rounds of chemotherapy and endured numerous infections. Unfortunately, she has not been able to stay in remission long enough to receive a bone marrow transplant. Last month, KaliMarie had her 1 year birthday party in her hospital room with all of her family around to support her. We were very grateful to get to celebrate this day but are hoping for a miracle to celebrate more. KaliMarie's family has taken every effort to insure that KaliMarie always has someone with her while at the hospital. This has required time off of work for her parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles so that she has family surrounding her. Please help in donating funds to assist her family in offsetting the expenses they have incurred.

Update on KaliMarie...it is with a heavy heart that we share that we have no more option for a cure. We are surrounding her with family and friends whom love her and we are making her a comfortable as possible for her last couple days. She has touch so many people in our community. Her smiles light up the room and we were blessed to have spent almost 14 months with this sweet girl. We ask for everyone to keep us in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

‎12/6/2011-I am saddened to say, this evening KaliMarie lost her battle against leukemia. She was a tough, strong fighter through it all and has taken her steps into heaven surrounded by the love of her family. Please continue to keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace KaliMarie.
