Harshit is 14 years old who is brilliant in studies and a class topper , also loves to play school football and cricket , when tragedy struck before his 15th birthday .

Harshit is known to family and friends as CHINNU is a vibrant young kid , whose life is brought down by nature’s tragedy in the form of Blood Cancer, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Pre B Calla +ve) . Every effort has been made by the parents and family to cure the disease by Chemotherapy as per BFM protocol which started on April 25th 2011 in St Johns Medical College Hospital Bengaluru, the treatment to which Harshit responded well and was on the way to recovery and to be put on Maintenance Therapy . In November Family received the devastating news that relapse has occurred due to the aggressive nature of the disease and in need of urgent Bone Marrow transplant to cure the disease permanently , unfortunately the Bone Marrow match of his sister is Not Matched . Parents have initiated a un related bone marrow transplant hoping to save his young life . expenses to get the Matched stem cells from National Marrow Donor Program NMDP is unimaginable as this is not covered by the Insurance in India.The cost of the transplant and maintaining him after the transplant until he recovers from the effects of the transplant and recover normally is a huge cost and the parents in India could not afford. we are trying to raise the cost of treatment through efforts of friends , relatives and donors . We are also trying to raise money fast as time is of essence to get him into Bone Marrow transplant . His parents cannot come up with this kind of money required at such short notice. Any help is much appreciated. Efforts are being made to get the BMT done in CMC .

Harsith is undergoing Relapse Protocol Mtce Therapy to maintain until a match is found . Also to keep him healthy enough for BMT.

Chemotheraphy is in progress for Harsith as of today and it will continue for 3 more days.

Chemotheraphy is in progress and it was found that the sugar levels are high for Harsith and he is getting treated for high sugar levels and Harsith wants to Thank all of the generous donors for their contributiion.

Update 4

National Marrow Donor Program has informed the hospital that Potential donors have been found and more tests need to be done. It is a very good News.
Harsith is doing well now able to eat food after the third chemotheraphy.

Harsith is discharged from St'johns Medical College Bengalore after getting treatment for the side effects of the Third chemo . Now Harsith is taking rest and trying to gain some energy and rest to continue his battle in the days to come. we will all wish him energy to continue his battle against the dreaded disease.
