Update: The medical bills are coming in and the first one was over $150,000, we are hoping that the insurance will cover most of this but the additional expenses (co-pays, medication, continued medical care etc) are exceeding our original estimate. We have raised our goal and extended the fundraiser in hopes that we can help Carson's parents pay these medical bills and work towards a little normalcy. Carson's Story ~ Our sister Miranda & Husband Brian were blessed with a new addition to their family, their third child baby Carson, he was born on July 14th 2011, they both knew that life would change for them, having 3 children but they were not prepared for this, before they left the hospital they were given unfortunate news; Carson had a major heart defect. Carson was referred to a surgeon in grand rapids MI but because of the severity of his condition they could not perform his surgery. He was then referred to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann arbor MI. They then started the learning process of taking care of a very ill child. With the consent Monitoring, special care and medication Carson needed Miranda was unable to return to her full time job. The Medical bills, Medication and Transportation to and from hospitals have taken Miranda and Brian, an already Financially struggling Family of five, are unable to find assistance anywhere. Brian her husband and father to Carson works full time but is sent home frequently due to lack of work. Carson had the long awaited surgery the week of Thanksgiving and to the surgeons surprise he is doing very well, after the operation one surgeons even said "you showed us Carson, You Showed Us", prior to the procedure that same doctor told our family that he may not make it and even if he did he would be a very sick little boy. This is not the end, Carson will need further surgery but our family is confident that our little fighter baby Carson will live a long normal life. We are coming together to raise money to pay medical related expenses uncovered by insurance and help cover some of the now past due living expenses because of the months lost form work and traveling to and from the hospitals.
