The Bronco Project: Raising money to Rebuild/Restore a 1991 Ford Bronco for the son of Adam Brown, Navy SEAL, KIA Afghanistan 2010.
Navy SEAL Adam Brown was killed on March 17, 2010 in Afghanistan. Adam was mortally wounded while trying to flank the enemy to protect his teammates. By his actions, he saved the lives of several of his men and for his actions he was awarded the Silver Star Medal for Heroism. Adam was a true American Patriot. This is only one example of the lengths Adam would go for people. Adam was a great husband, father, son, friend and hero to us all.
Adam's first car was a Ford Bronco and Adam left behind a 1991 Ford Bronco while serving his country. The Bronco Project was started in order to raise money to completely overhaul Adam's Bronco to give to his son Nathan and daughter Savannah. We would like to continue this as a Brown Tradition.
My name is Chris. The Bronco Project is being organized by myself, and close friends of Adam. We will be glad to answer any additional questions about Adam or The Bronco Project via email: Thebroncoproject@gmail.com. Thanks in advance for your support.
Currently we have raised over $5,000 to add to the proceeds being donated on this site.

The Bronco Project
WE DID IT!!!!!
December 15th, 2011
The Bronco is officially out of my garage and en route to RK Motors in Charlotte NC. They've agreed to restore the bronco and cover any additional costs beyond what we've raised. Long story short, I met Michael Waltrip (NASCAR driver/owner) and Scott Henderson (President of 5-hour ENERGY) at the SEAL Foundation dinner in NY 2 weeks ago. They were touched by the story and wanted to complete this project for us. They sent a transporter to my house today and picked up the bronco (see pics at the top). They told me it could be as much as a 9 month restoration project. All of the money you've so generously donated will go towards the restoration. We've raised almost $26,000 on line and just over $10,000 from private donors and independent fundraisers for a total of $36,000. I'm totally pumped. According to Jamie, from RK Motors Marketing "this will be the best bronco on the planet".
Fundraising and overall update
November 6th, 2011
Friends and Families, we're going to have to extend the fundraiser one final time - for two reasons:
- We haven't raised enough money yet
- This page still gives folks a place to go and check progress.
- Several guys at work have recently gotten involved with this project and are helping to forward this Fundraiser out to additional donors to include Naval Special Warfare donors and national automotive rebuild shops. In fact, this morning - i sent an application to "Search and Restore" a new show on Spike TV. Cross your fingers.
- We're working to get some local media attention for this project as well. We've got a connection with Wavy TV 10 and hoping to get a Bronco Project segment on their morning show.
- Eric Blehm, a New York Times Best Selling Author is in the process of writing a book about Adam - Look for that in about a year or so.
- Still trying to figure out how to continue updating everyone after the fundraiser is over and the Bronco is off to the shop. There is a Facebook page for Adam, but a lot of people don't have facebook. We're wondering if we should build a web page - Email thebroncoproject@gmail.com with any suggestions or if you want to offer to help.
- Finally - we had a meeting yesterday morning about the project, the "what to do - where to go" etc. Bottom line - we haven't raised enough money yet and we've got a lot of new people offering to help - so we're gonna keep this thing open for a few more months to try and get to the $50,000 mark.
- Jackie - to you, your husband, the HP shop and everyone at the wedding who generously donated making you guys the top donors. Well done and thank you.
- And Matt Magee - who is running the NY marathon today to raise money for this project.
Update
August 29th, 2011
I'm sorry I haven't updated everyone sooner. Let me first start by saying-- thank you all so much once again. We've raised almost $24,000 via this web page and another $9,000 from private donations-- leaving us just over $16,000 short. We're extending this fundraiser two more months because of forthcoming articles in the Bronco magazine which could generate additional donors.
Spartyka Fight League
May 13th, 2011
I want to give a special thanks to Spartyka Fight League for their generosity in supporting the Bronco Project. Last Saturday SFL presented a check of a $1,000 plus proceeds donated that night to go towards the restoration of the Bronco. SFL is a very patriotic organization and they put on some great MMA fights the other weekend. Thanks again Spartyka Fight League.
A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO ALL
May 11th, 2011
Just hit 40% and continue to recieve donations and inspiring words from people who didn't even know Adam or his family. We can not thank everyone enough. Also-- if you'd like to write a check instead of donating directly to the site-- please send an email via thebroncoproject@gmail.com and i'll forward the information you'll need. From the bottom of our hearts-- thank you
