The family and friends of Robert Nickerson are uniting to cover medical and funeral cost. Please donate in his memory.
Robert A. Nickerson, age 68 died on February 6, 2012. He lived in North Cape May over 30 years. Robert was a Fire Police Officer for the Holly Beach Volunteer Fire Department in Wildwood. Robert served in the Army National Guard from 1952-1968. He was a former Police Officer in National Park. He was also an EMT with Lower Twp. Rescue Squad where he served as a first responder in the World Trade Center Attack on September 11, 2001. He was a member of the American Legion Post #184 Wildwood, Moose Lodge #85, Greater Cape May Elks #2839, the VFW and the Army/Navy Garrison. He supported the Disabled Veteran’s Assoc and the Vietnam Veterans. Robert enjoyed playing darts and shuffleboard and loved the Phillies and Eagles.He is survived by his daughter Michele L. Hamilton (nee Nickerson), granddaughter Danielle Hamilton and her fiance Stephen Barry, great granddaughter Mackenzie Michele Barry, step daughter Diane Haskins, brother Daniel (Diane) Nickerson, Sr. and nephews Daniel Jr., Jeffrey and Christian Nickerson. Robert was also eager to meet his newest great grandchild due next month.Friends may greet the family on Friday after 10am in the Budd Funeral Home, 522 Salem Ave (Kings Hwy), Woodbury, NJ. Funeral service will be at 11:30am. Interment Woodbury Memorial Park. Memories may be shared at www.buddfuneralhome.com.
