Announcing GiveForward’s Weeks of Giving Program

GiveForward's Weeks of Giving

The holiday season is officially here, and you know what that means: trolling Pinterest for the perfect cookie recipe, circling mall parking lots for spots, and raiding thrift shops for the ugliest Christmas sweaters.

But the holidays are also a time of gratitude.

As the year draws to a close, we reflect on what this past year gave us and how we can give back before the next.

This holiday season, we’re kicking off our “Weeks of Giving” Program, beginning Monday, November 9th. We’ll feature lots of fun and meaningful ways to share and give back.

Until then, here are 3 easy ways you can immediately make an impact in someone’s life by giving forward:

  1. Donate to someone facing a challenge. Today, there are thousands of people on GiveForward who are raising money to pay for the out-of-pocket expenses that accompany major life events: treatments not covered by insurance, memorial costs, and rebuilding after emergencies. Find a Fundraiser that speaks to you and give.
  2. Send a “Thinking of You” note. Simple acknowledgment goes a long way, especially during the holidays. While we’re pressured to buy the latest Apple gadget and roast 22-pound turkeys, it’s important to recognize the people you care about. Send a text, letter, Facebook message or “Thinking of You” note on GiveForward to let a friend or relative know you care.
  3. Start a GiveForward Page for someone you care about. Even though the holidays often create joy and a sense of community, they can also leave people feeling alone and stressed. If someone you know is facing a challenge, create a page where your community can give and receive meaningful support.

Throughout November and December, we’ll announce more ways that you can give forward to the people you love, your community, and strangers with our Weeks of Giving Program.

Whose world will you change?
