Hello Friends!

One in 1,280 people have Chiari Malformation.   I am one of those people.  For 6 years I was given the wrong diagnosis of Lupus.  During this time I underwent numerous treatments that were unsuccessful and misleading for my doctors.   Last winter I just happened to have an MRI scan of my neck/head and my diagnosis quickly changed.   After several doctor appointments it became clear that I would need surgery to make more room for my brain and spinal cord to function correctly.   Without surgery I run the risk of future problems, including paralyzation.   To help offset costs of the surgery and recovery, my husband, Chef Jeremy Kiens and Browntrout will be hosting a fundraiser on Tuesday, September 29th at 7 p.m.   Browntrout is located at 4111 North Lincoln. We will be charging fifteen dollars at the door to cover the costs of the benefit and the rest will be donated to the fundraiser.

 My husband and I have lived in Roscoe Village now for over eight years and have always supported the local economy and hope you will too by joining us at Browntrout.  If you cannot make it there are other ways to help out.
