Jason and Patty Angel, friends to all, have been hit with not one, but two, medical crises in the last six months (from August 2009 to January 2010). Their medical bills are mounting, while Jason remains out of work. Please help however you can.

Anyone who knows Jason and Patty Angel know how much they care about everyone they meet. They are exemplary individuals in every way. However, good karma has been missing in action for these two who truly live up to their last name.

In August of 2009, Jason was hospitalized with a MRSA staph infection that saw him in intensive care for one week before being put up in a rehabilitation facility for another three weeks after that. This happened just after Jason's medical benefits and severance package from his last job expired. He and Patty had to pay (and are still paying) for a large portion of the bills from this period of time due to the high costs of Cobra health care.

Just as the Angels were starting to "not scrape by" according to Jason, just after midnight on Jan. 6, Jason fell out of his wheelchair while trying to get into bed and broke his left leg in two places. Now, after close to a week's stay at Anna Jaques Hospital, which included surgery, he has been transferred to Whittier Rehabilitation Clinic where he may have to stay for up to two weeks.

Again, his only insurance for all this is Cobra, which covers very little and with high copays. The Angels' only income right now is coming from Patty's steady job and whenever Jason could help out at CNC, before the accident with his leg, which will keep him out of work for an undetermined amount of time.

Everyone is struggling these days, but if you can think for a moment of the light that Jason and Patty have brought into your life, perhaps you can spare a few dollars to help them get through the toughest year of their lives since Jason's 1990 car accident that left him paralyzed.

No amount is too small or too large. Again, thank you for any amount that you can chip in. They will certainly appreciate as will I, their humble friend Joshua Boyd.
