Hello.  My name is Amir Patel. I am a 13-yr old in the 8th grade.   I am doing an independent study project for my school (Near North Montessori School in Chicago, IL). I chose to train for and compete in a triathlon. I hope to be able to compete at Ironkids San Diego in May. The race is a 300-yard swim, an 8-mile bike and a 2-mile run. I did a couple of triathlons (Ironkids France and Ironkids Austria) when I was much younger so the distances were much less.

In order to train properly and avoid injury, I need to purchase proper equipment. I need swim clothing - including a wet suit; a bike and helmet; and, running shoes and clothes. I also would like to raise enough to help my parents with travel costs to San Diego.

My parents are very supportive of my goal and will help me as much as they can. I know that it will be hard for them to buy all of the things I need and pay for the trip. I thought of this fundraiser in order to help my parents.
