Bree was born February 14 2002 and she has been a fighter since day one! Bree was born with Cystic Fibrosis.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that:

clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; and

obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.

Though life expectancy has risen for those with cystic fibrosis, we still lose too many at a young age. There is no cure at this time.

She has a love for life that you do not see to often. No matter what is going on she has a smile on her face. She fights everyday to stay as healthy as she can. Taking over 35 pills each day, 8-12 breathing treatments, inhalers, nasal sprays, sinus rinses, two hours of chest physio therapy and a feeding tube to try and maintain her weight. She requires hospitalizations for iv antibiotics, procedures and surgeries multiple times a year.

As I told you Bree has Cystic Fibrosis, along with that comes many other complications and health issues. She has asthma, sinus disease, chronic rhinitis, lung infections, malabsorption, GERD, chronic constipation, possible arthritis and so on. She has had 7 surgeries and countless procedures. She has a feeding tube, medi-port ( 3 total replaced 2 times), nissen fundoplication, sinus surgeries, scopes, MRI's, cat scans, x-rays, upper GI, EGD, biopsies and more.

Through all this and more she never complains, she is a happy, funny and loving. She excels in her school work with straight A's and is a wonderful and caring friend. She helps others who are in need any chance she gets.

I am blessed to have her as my daughter and couldn't be more impressed by the amazing young lady she is growing into. She has changed my outlook on life and made me a better person.

I would like to do something special for her. She loves to be outside and I know she would love to have a new swing set to play on during the warmer months of the year. Exercise is a huge part of staying healthy for anyone and is extremely important for those with cystic fibrosis. During the winter months it is hard for her to get outside as she can not breath in the cold weather. For this I would like to get her a treadmill.

So we are having this fundraiser in order to raise enough money to buy Bree a swing set and a treadmill. She deserves this so much but I need your help to be able to do this for her. Caring for a child with cystic fibrosis is expensive, whether it is medications, supplements, medical equipment and such. It doesn't leave much for extras. Being a single parent to a child with severe chronic health issues consumes a lot of time and energy but every second is worth it to see the love she has for life. I can just picture the look on her face and the joy she will have if we can make this happen.

So please consider helping me make this happen for Bree. We are asking for a donation of $1.00 per person if possible.
