Ellie & Grace Potvin were born 8 years ago on this Halloween.  Ellie was diagnosed with Stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma in 2008 and has undergone some of the most agressive treatment available. Only 10% of the time Rhabdo comes back in the main tumor location... Ellie's did in less than 3 months. Ellie's cancer is very aggressive and the radiation failed. During this year these microscopic cells have mutated and become stronger and more powerful through the chemotherapy - the cancers goal is to evolve overtime... so never to be destroyed. The only way to be confident the main tumor will be destroyed is by taking off her hip and leg. That still does not give her over a 20% chance of survival. There is VERY LITTLE doubt the cancer is hiding elsewhere in her body... found it once covering her lungs & has gone through her entire blood stream.

My job is to take the focus off of this dreadful disease for this one celebratory day as Ellie and Grace celebrate their  8th Birthday in less than 2 weeks!

I am reaching out to share this tragic story in hopes of bringing more people together to fight cancer in children! Cancer is a beast no matter what the age, but children are the innocent.  They deserve the chance to live their lives to adulthood and experience all of the things that they were meant to.  It seems so unfair. 

I hope to gain resources from those who can provide to assist the Potvin family in celebrating their twin daughters' 8 years of life at their birthday party on October 30th. If you feel that you can offer assistance, please let me know!

If this party were to occur tomorrow, I could say that I have been absolutely blown away by the responses and generosity offered by so many people. I have created this site because so many individuals have wanted to contribute to the birthday celebration, and needed a way to do that.  We will also present the family with a contribution to "The Ellie Shoal Potvin Supplemental Needs Trust".  Thank you, thank you, thank you!
