Krystal\'s Colonoscopy Fundraiser

Hello, my name is Krystal Campagna I am a 23 year-old full time college student suffering from what doctors may think to be either IBS, Colitis, or Chron's. For as long as I can remember, I have been suffering from all sorts of stomach issues, any where from burning and pressure in the right abdomen, to sever bright green stool, and full on weeks of constipation. ER visit after ER visit, I keep getting told its Colitis so I need to change my diet. After speaking to the doctors in the ER they had me consult  a Nutritionist, who then tells me all the foods I can no longer eat.. yay right? No, not at all! Now that I have changed my diet to how they see fit for my condition, I still remain suffering from sever constant constipation issues, burning in the abdomen and waves of nausea following the pain in my right side. Also, on my last visit to the ER because I cannot afford a primary doctor, they told me that I need to have a colonoscopy done, in order to determin whether or not I have Colitis or Chron's. I unfortunately, do not qualify for any type of health insurance, so I've been doing my research.

  • What is colonoscopy?

Colonoscopy is a procedure used to see inside the colon and rectum. Colonoscopy can detect inflamed tissue, ulcers, and abnormal growths. The procedure is used to look for early signs of colorectal cancer and can help doctors diagnose unexplained changes in bowel habits, abdominal pain, bleeding from the anus, and weight loss.

I have found a specialist who can provided services for me, not having ins. There is a $160.00 consultant fee, then for the actual Colonoscopy the total cost will be $1,400 that’s to pay the specialists, the hospital, and the anesthesiologists. The doctors office is called Digestive Disease Specialist and there contact info is: 2700 Crimson Canyon Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89128-0802(702) 562-2420‎

The reason for my fundraiser is because I simply cannot afford it on my own and my stomach gets worse by the day. So, any contributions would be a blessing. Also, did you know that between IBS, Colitis, appendicitis, and Chron's are commonly misdiagnosed for one another? I will list some facts below along with a reference website.

  • * Common Misdiagnoses and Ulcerative colitis

Chronic digestive conditions often misdiagnosed: When diagnosing chronic symptoms of the digestive tract, there are a variety of conditions that may be misdiagnosed. The best known, irritable bowel syndrome, is over-diagnosed, whereas other causes that are less known may be overlooked or misdiagnosed: celiac disease, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis (both are called inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)), diabetic gastroparesis, diabetic diarrhea. Other possibilities include giardia, colon cancer, or other chronic infections.
